1. Our commitment
PROFID aims to make its website and consumer services usable by people with disabilities. This includes access to notices, reports, file requests, and disputes.
Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is a goal, not a statement that every page, document, or feature currently conforms. Read the WCAG 2.2 standard.
2. What this statement covers
This statement covers the public website at theprofid.com, the candidate account, and the notices and reports PROFID sends to candidates by email or mail. Some features use third-party services, such as the demo-booking calendar; we choose providers that publish their own accessibility information, but we do not control their content.
3. Accessibility work
On the public website we have:
- made the main menus usable with a keyboard, including closing them with Escape;
- added pause and play controls to the videos that play automatically;
- stopped videos and animations for visitors who turn on reduced motion;
- linked form errors to their fields so screen readers announce them;
- improved the colour contrast of links in the cookie banner.
A formal accessibility review has not yet been completed. We are testing keyboard navigation, focus visibility, screen-reader labels, colour contrast, and reduced-motion support, and will publish the results here.
4. Known limitations
Some product screens on the marketing pages are pictures of the PROFID dashboard; their details are decorative, and the surrounding text describes what they show. Third-party services linked from the website follow their own accessibility practices.
5. Get help or request another format
If you have difficulty using the website, reading a report or notice, requesting your file, or submitting a dispute, email support@theprofid.com or call +1 313 327 3970. Tell us which page or task is affected, the problem you encountered, and how you would prefer us to contact you. You may describe the format or assistance that would help.
You do not need to provide a medical diagnosis. Do not include a full Social Security number, identity documents, or sensitive report details in an ordinary email. We will explain a secure way to provide any information needed to help you.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within two business days and to offer an alternative way to complete your task. This goal does not extend a legal deadline for a file disclosure or dispute.
You can always use another route. Every consumer right PROFID supports — requesting your file, disputing information, receiving a notice in another format — can be exercised by email, by mail, or by telephone, without using a web form or the candidate account. See Request Your File and Dispute a Report.
