Can we start checks from our own app?
Yes. The PROFID API lets your app create screening requests and track their status. Checks begin after the worker completes registration and consent.
Can each job type use a different package?
Yes. Set screening packages by job type and market. Each worker receives the package for the work they sign up to do.
Which checks should gig workers have?
Choose checks by the job: Gig Essential adds county searches in two counties, while Gig Driver also includes driver license verification and an MVR. Gig Driver Plus adds state and federal criminal searches. For road-driving roles, compare delivery driver screening or rideshare and chauffeur screening.
How long does a gig worker background check take?
97% of automated checks—identity verification, SSN trace, national criminal records, and sex offender searches—finish in under 5 minutes. County searches depend on courts and driving records depend on state DMVs. A full package can take longer than its automated components.
Do checks start as soon as a worker signs up?
Checks start after the worker completes registration and consent. An API request or initial sign-up does not replace that step, and the dashboard shows incomplete registrations.
Can workers see or dispute their results?
Yes. Workers can view their results and consent in their account. They can dispute inaccurate or incomplete information through the PROFID dispute process.
How do we switch from our current provider?
PROFID helps you switch by setting up packages, importing candidates and employees, training your team, and assigning a dedicated manager. Your team can start with the dashboard while any requested integration is arranged.
How much does screening cost per gig worker?
Gig Basic starts at $27.99, Gig Essential at $49.99, Gig Driver at $57.99, and Gig Driver Plus at $89.99 per worker. Court, data, and DMV fees are additional and passed through at cost. Volume pricing depends on job types, markets, and monthly sign-ups.
Is identity verification included in Gig Basic?
Yes. Every gig package includes identity verification. Gig Basic at $27.99 per worker also includes SSN trace and address history, national criminal records with aliases, the sex offender registry, and global watchlists.
Who decides when a worker can be activated?
Your platform reviews the results and decides when to activate the worker. PROFID supplies the screening workflow, results, and statuses to support that review.
Do we need an API integration to use PROFID?
No. Your team can send email invitations and import CSV or Excel lists from the dashboard without development. Use the API when you want to connect screening to your own onboarding workflow.
Can we add monitoring after activation?
Post-hire monitoring is available as a separate add-on. Coverage and update frequency depend on the check and state, so the monitoring scope is agreed separately from the initial package.
